May 2025 | Report
Among other things, I lost a client.

If you’re exploring n8n for vibe marketing and find the workflows complicated, this video makes it extremely easy for you. It’s almost like text-to-n8n. I haven’t tried it yet, but I will do it soon.
May felt longer for no reason. Probably because I haven’t gone out much and spent most of my time with clients. Here is the review:
I had to part ways with one of my clients because our working styles didn’t match. I can’t disclose the details, but both of us ended the relationship on good terms. It was a good six months: I have set up their newsletter systems and funnels, grew it from zero to 33,000 subscribers, and received a public testimonial.
Before I find new clients, I have to fast-track a few tasks for two of my existing clients. Some have been pending for a while, and it’s embarrassing.
Also - I have been tracking time[1] to learn why I am this unorganized. I always thought I chased perfectionism and worked slowly, but shipped quality. While that is partly true, my breakthrough so far is I start late. If I have 10 days to a deadline, I start on days 7/8 and finish it on the 10th. Sometimes it gets extended to the 11th or 12th day (which makes me think I work slowly).
The solution seems as simple as ‘start early,’ but it requires discipline to schedule a task and complete it on time. For June, I printed out a physical calendar with deadlines, always on my desk.
Cheer for me.
Acquired 57 subscribers organically from the events we host on Cognition’s community.
I am comfortably publishing two issues a month. Next step: push it to three to match the initial plan to publish on 10th, 20th, and last day of each month.
Eventually, I wish to own and run newsletters in promising niches rather than working for clients. I have no plans of scaling into an agency, but I want dopecontent.in to be this media house that ships quality content.
One more thing - I am building an email course on ‘Building taste as Marketers.’ I am figuring out a way to present taste as a skill. Taste seems subjective, but with the right steps, it could be developed, improved, and moulded to fit into the environment.
I haven’t decided to make it a paid course or a lead magnet. But one way to learn it for free is on June 17th. I am taking an online session.

*As of 30th May 2025 - applies to all numbers I mention in this edition.
Again, in an attempt to become the person who stays ahead of the calendar, I scheduled our three events for June (3rd, 9th, and 17th).
The engagement was a little dead this month. It’s understandable when the hosts don’t push conversations. I need to read more so I can share more resources with the community.
I also started Insiders Weekly, a newsletter designed to increase visibility for our members; a way to cheer in public by sharing their insights and products.

I published only one issue because I am working on a lead magnet.
I am curating the top 50 South Indian films (lead magnet) that don’t fall into the typical genre people associate with. You won’t find movies like KGF, Baahubali, or RRR on this list, but rather more realistic, story-driven films that many people are unaware of.
Plus it’s not just a list. I’ll also give you a reason to watch it by mentioning why I love each film. This will be a 10-page PDF.

I said running Caffeineletter’s ads will be the first thing I fix in May, and I did it. We had decent growth and tested different ads.
In June, we plan to run city-based ads while building tools, expanding marketing channels, and focusing on partnerships.

May | 4 | 0$ | 596 |
As of now, revenue isn’t the goal. We are capturing as many readers as possible.
Assets I am building passively
newslettercasestudies.com: Published two case studies. There’s another one ready (newsletter review system); I should update it on the blog.
Newsletter subReddit: Members are posting now, and there is an increase in engagement, yay! We got 30 new members this month (now at 187).
Newsletter Directory: I am still vibe coding a new website.
Telugu Playlist: At 155 unique saves now. I love how I do zero marketing and still someone shares this playlist with their friends.

I upgraded my desk with a monitor, mouse, and keyboard. Yay!
Footnotes:
[1] In case you’re curious, I use a Mac app called Daily to track my time. I use the paid version for $30 yearly, but the free version works for basic tracking.
