In my personal newsletter, I share the best content I consumed during the last month.
This includes movies, shows, music, YouTube videos, blogs, etc.
I have been doing this for eight months with consistently happy replies. So I want to share the same format here, but for marketing content.
Last day of each month, Cognition will be your discovery channel for marketing content.
Books
1/ Cashvertising by Drew E. Whitman
I am rereading (rather listening) to Cashvertising.
Each marketer has a book to return to whenever they want to touch base. It’s cashvertising for me.
I have consumed way too many blogs, books, and podcasts on advertising. Nothing articulates what incentivizes humans to purchase better than Cashieeee.

YouTube
1/ YC lectures
YC has a 21-lecture playlist on startups by entrepreneurs. I have been randomly watching these over the last six months, and I am on the 17th lecture. You don’t have to be an entrepreneur to watch these. Just a curious mind about how businesses function is enough.

2/ How to get whatever you want?
Many people ask me questions about work and they’re vague as fuck. As much as I’d want to help, there’s only a little I can do without context.
I wish I could tell them, “You need to learn to ask effectively.”

Blogs
Honestly, I haven’t read much this month. The Greatest Sales Deck Ever is worth recommending among the blogs I have read.
So this guy broke down an enterprise software, Zuora’s sales deck. If you only look at it as a sales deck, it’s just another blog for you. But good marketers often draw parallels to their business and implement similar strategies in their content.

Podcasts
1/ Growth in Reverse with Nathan May
If you’re running a newsletter, Nathan’s content ups your game by a mile. I love his LinkedIn. I am on his private email list too - it’s GOLD!
This podcast is a good introduction to Nathan’s mind if you’re done with surface-level posts and need content on how the top 1% newsletter publications perform.

That’s all of my recommendations from August. If you like these, I will start sharing three resources in each segment. Let me know.
See ya!
Love,
Vikra.
